Cats & Dogs

This rain, eh?
It's just a bit grim isn't it?
And it seems to show no sign of easing up.

It's just another reason why getting out of bed is becoming increasingly difficult at the moment. Especially when you have the mildly fuzzy head that I do this morning due to a couple of large single malts last night on a very empty stomach that had been emptied earlier thanks to a random case of Delhi Belly (sorry to be so graphic at this time in the morning, but you have to put these things into context, don't you?).

Anyhoo, this news item on the BBC caught my eye this morning. Apparently a survey of 4,000 readers of Doctor Who Magazine have voted David Tennant the "best ever Doctor Who" knocking Tom Baker into second. The fact the Eccleston hits third in the poll seems to suggest that the readership seem to have memories shorter than your average commerical break, but there we go. Seems a bit sudden, after only 13 episodes and a Christmas special, to knock ol' Tom off the top, but then I guess I'm biassed seeing as Tom was the Doctor when I was in the target audience demographic. Now I should just quitely tut, roll my eyes and say something like "Kids today, eh?"

Whilst we're on the subject of things Doctor Who, though.. want to see 4 minutes of the upcoming Christmas Special (including a very cool motorway chase sequence)? Course you do.

Oh, and, take the survey (below).. go on, for a laugh!

Chicken Licken, The Sky Is Falling In!

Ok, it's not exactly falling in, but there's certainly a lot falling out of it.
Look.
Watery shit.
It's landing everywhere, in large quantities.
There's puddles the size of Lake Windermere in the car park outside.
This is not the weather I wanted to see with 48 hours to go to the big day, I can tell thee.

As you may imagine, weather sites like the excellent MetCheck (http://www.metcheck.com) are being heavily consulted at the moment.  Indeed last night we were comparing and contrasting three different forecasts (the beeb, the Met Office and MetCheck) desperately looking for hope in their predictions for Saturday's weather.  At present it doesn't look too great, I must admit.. there's like 90% cloud predicted for around the 4 o'clock mark.  Okay, at the moment, they're not saying it will rain, but if you've seen how wildly the forecasts have changed in the last 72 hours you'd be wise to expect anything.

Not that rain will spoil the day, of course, it just would have been nice if people could have seen the surroundings as they were when we went up there on Monday (24 degrees, blue sky).  As you descend into Ruthin along the A494 you can get some breathtaking views when the weather is fine, and it will be a shame if people miss out on that (particularly for those visiting that neck of the woods for the first time).

So..
Let's all join hands,
And let's do a little chant to bring out the sun...
He's a little shy, but I think I can see him skulking behind that big, black cloud over there.
If we're all really nice to him perhaps we can get him back to his former self for Saturday

blah

My head is absolutely everywhere except where it's supposed to be today and I'm finding it very difficult to stay focussed on anything longer than

So did you see that Shabaz has left the big brother house?  I've barely had the chance to comment on this show since it returned to Channel 4, things have been way too hectic, but already one of the housemates has left the show.  Blimey.  Well good riddance he was completely barnpot anyway and anyone who has been sponging off benefits for twenty one years shouldn't be glorified on national television anyway.  One of the greatest oversights as a result of how busy I've been is that I have yet to mention my new shed.  You see over the weekend I picked up my shed, and installed it in the garden (the garden now, as far as I'm concerned, is complete) and it's fabby.. I feel like I've joined a proper man's club now I have a shed to store tools and stuff in.  Sheds rock.  Just wish we'd had better weather to put it up with as for about the last week and half the weather has been absolutely awful hasn't it?  Torrential rain every pigging day, still at least it seems to be improving as I write this, so it might be nice for the weekend.  Not that I can plan anything for the weekend, hell I cannot even plan anything for tomorrow at the moment as who knows when this baby will arrive?  Anyway, that's my thoughts downloaded to the blog for now, thanks for listening
